On a Tuesday night shortly before Christmas 1956, four legends - Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley - gathered at the Sun Records studio in Memphis Tennessee, where they’d launched their careers. Word soon leaked out of an impromptu jam session. A newspaper man who was there wrote, “This quartet could sell a million.” Soon, they were dubbed the Million Dollar Quartet. This was their only performance, a cultural flashpoint that caught rock n’ roll at the moment of creation.
The cast features Nathan Burke (Twelfth Night – Dallas Theatre Center), Steven Lasiter (The Buddy Holly Story), Trevor Dorner (Murder for Two), and Jacob Barton (Jesus Christ Superstar – Cape Fear Regional Theatre). They are joined by Sean Casey Flanagan (Anne of Green Gables – International Tour), Taylor Kraft (Beauty and The Beast – Temple Theatre), and Bill Morey (Smokey Joe’s Café – 20TH Anniversary Tour, BUDDY). Jon Rossi (Smokey Joe’s Café – National Tour) is the music supervisor and also plays the role of Fluke.
